Surprisingly, after a weird noise the mirror was backed into place and all is working fine..... I seriously thought my mirror was done...

The sound was probably gears grinding; I wouldn't try it again...My 5 year old son did a similar test on the seat belt butler. I was getting gas and he was playing with it, then he pulled it out all the way. I thought it was toast since it didn't retract anymore. But then I pushed it back hard enough to get it to catch. After some grinding noises, it's working again.

Relax. It's designed to be folded manually as well.

+1 it isn't an issue, designed to be manually folded and unfolded even with electric control.

Lol its normal, man. I mean I didn't even think anything of it when I did it the first time because obviously BMW thought of that making the car.

You can do it as often as you like. I fold mine by hand every time I wash my car, first down to drain, then up to drain in the other direction and no problems at all even after years of folding them up and down by hand. They are designed to work that way.
