Bluetooth connects like normal but no sound

Hi all, hoping someone may have some ideas. Recently the bluetooth in my car started acting up. It connects to both my iphone 4 and my wife's iphone 5, and acts normal except there is no sound at all. It connects on its own like normal, mutes and overrides the music when attempting to make a call but then just silence. Any tips or advice on what to do to attempt to fix the issue? My car is a 07 335i e92 with logic 7, no nav, usb or idrive.

Bump, anyone have ideas? Also, if I buy a replacement blue-tooth module / TCU of the same part number does it need to be coded to work?
