Curb Rash = Hate My Life
1 week old F32 devirginized by a curb that I misjudged.
I really don't have any experience in dealing with something like this... so.. based on these pics, what would be the best course of action? i feel like i'm driving a 1990 honda civic with a fast & furious spoiler now. (overreact much?) any help would be appreciated. i'm in the queens/LI area so if a DIY isn't possible, are there any recommended repair shops? |

Just get fixed mate, no biggy.
I can't speak about where you are but here it would only cost a couple of hundred dollars to fix and probably take a couple of days. And, be more careful! |

Why would you recommend someone who sells hubcap and sucks at repairing wheels ? OP, Do a search for rim docs in your area. I think there is one called rim doctors. Check out my curb rash repair by a specialist. I had this done last month. http://www.f30post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=897733 |

Fark me! If you care about your car like any "normal" person, which I'm sure you do, just go and get it repaired properly. |

Gotcha, that's what I figured. Have you had any work done by this place ? If so, put up some pictures. |

The 397 rims are polished along the outside, the inner side in between the spokes is painted. I have the same wheels.
My wheel doc has fixed them several times He uses a workbench with sort of a drill to smooth out the edge of the rim (dont know the correct english term for it) So putty or filler wont work on these wheels. |

see my previous post. the original op made a typo and stated he doesn't do great work. I was just responding to what he wrote.

That can definitely be fixed.
I had a similar curb rash on my car and a local dealer has a mobile wheel repair go to the dealership twice a week and setup. The cost was about $175 (CDN) and it took 2 hours for them to fix it (Dealer lent me a car while I waited). They basically sand it down and repaint the damaged area and it will look new again. One thing to look out for is to make sure that your rim is cleaned spotless before they start. I didn't clean the inside of the rim and assumed the repair guy would and when they painted over the damaged area they painted over the dirt and its now impossible to clean off. Luckily, its inside and you can't really see it but I notice it and it kinda bothers me but not enough to re-do and spend another 175. |

you might be able to find a slightly used one on ebay fairly cheap. Many people see sets and singles because they don't like the OEM rims.
