Front Center Lift Point

Hello All,

New to this forum and a new owner of a '14 328i M Sport - 6MT.

I am going to change the transmission and differential fluid as part of my break-in maintenance at 2k miles which will require placing the car on four jackstands.

The trouble is that I do not see a front center lift point under the car for placing my floor jack. Does anyone know whether there is a lift point somewhere under all of the aero panels?

For the rear, I plan to place the floor jack under the differential/subframe.

I have searched the forums but most are just using the rocker points to change tires, etc.

Any help appreciated!

If you jack it up from one of the front jack points, then remove the underbody engine cover, you should be able to see the front cross-member. Not totally recommended, but should work.

Hey folks, thank you for all of the replies and the link to the pictures.

At this point I think loosening the lower undertray and looking for a traditional cross-member is the only way to know for sure where I can safely lift from the front center.

I have a set of custom jack stands that fit the rocker pads so I am good as far as supporting the car from a point designed for that purpose.

I will make sure to document my findings and post a reply with the details.

Hey MJ,

Let us know how it goes. I jacked my F30 up a month ago to change the manual transmission and the differential oil, after changing the oil in the engine. However, it wasn't high enough to get to changing the transmission oil, so I didn't do it. I will wait till my next engine oil change at 9K miles and will go to a DIY garage to get the car properly lifted up and provide comfortable access to the transmission. Differential is not an issue by the way, for that you might not even need to jack the car up, but I left it as is too, until the 9K service of mine.
