News about Eonon D5165...

Hi,
I'm one of the users that have bought an Eonon D5165 radio. Last days all threads about Eonon are gone.

I've tried to contact Carlos that replied me that saying that is going to renew the sponsorship of the forum, until then he can not reply us and will be back very soon.

So lets wait.

However, I think it would be great if the other users that bought D5165 could share if you have more news about Eonon in order to solve some of the problems we have been discussing at this forum.

Hi bmgp, thanks for your help. I am back now!
Regarding the D5165, have you guys tried the software i provided? Any feedback? We are glad to hear the voice from our customer, since it is the best way to improve the unit.

Meanwhile, for the guys who want to return the can bus box for newer version, please kindly PM me directly. Thanks a lot!

I'm thinking of buying one of these units in the UK but get the impression, from reading on the forum, that there are a few bugs with it. Is it possible to upgrade the software on it if better versions are developed?
I'm also concerned about the fit of the unit at the bottom. Does anyone have any pictures of the bottom of the installed unit taken from the side?

I have one of these installed in my car, I like it a lot, only issue I have it the home screen button gets stuck but I never use it, I use the controls on my steering wheel, but knock on wood, no other issues at this point in time

I believe you need to keep your old headunit plugged in for those functions to continue to work.

Oh wow I didn't even know this existed!!! Is this a direct plug n play replacement for the head unit? Will I still be able to use my sound system as is (Logic 7 sound system, with added mono amp/sub)? Does it have an equalizer, and any discounts for bimmerpost members

?

If all these are yes then i'll be picking up one of these very soon!

I am looking to buy one of these units. I was checking the website feature page and at the bottom it says if you have logic 7 you may need an adapter for it to work. Can you tell what that adapter is. Thanks

There is no adpator that will make this work to my knowledge you have to loose
the L7 amp and or get new ones. Or you could use it with just head unit power
from the Enon but you will loose L7 amp and all the stuff that goes with it.
So if you just use the Head Unit with L7 you go from 9 amplified surround sound to
4 channels of non L7 head unit power.
This HU or others like it might be a good deal for somebody that has the base or
hi fi system but not L7.

You could also get an aftermarket amp. IMO the stock logic 7 system is overprocessed and underpowered anyways.

Not that I recommend this head unit at all, but it can be done.

You need to go back to the previous version

this is the latest Eonon 5165 software:

I would suggest reloading that previous software once more, and then run this MCU in the media sc card slot as well ( instructions included on the MCU) then finally try the latest software again. thats what i did. I sent this to bmgp, and he said it worked for him also

Also once the software upgrade is complete, it boots up in chinese, you will need to locate the settings and change the language to English or whatever language you like and you should be golden !
