angel eye change

hey guys. so sorry but I am probably one of the worse diy guys around.

picked up replacement angel eyes for my 06 e87 130i m sport.

tried changing it myself last night and was completely stumped.

the left I could not gain access to due to air box in situ and limiting the room to work with.

the right I got the cover off. and could not figure out how to change the bulb (

wonder if anyone has any suggestions?

awesome idea. yeah friend and I tinkered for a bit. ended up moving the airbox away by temporarily disconnecting from the intake.

Hi Arthurtwp,
Last week i replaced the halo lights on my 06 130i ,it appears more difficult than it is because you can't see what you are doing!
You don't need to remove the covers from the rear of the headlights, the halo globe is separate and is located below and to the outside of the headlight unit, just follow the wires.
It is then just a matter of turning the lamp holder in an anti clockwise direction and removing it. Replacement is the reverse.
I was able to do it without moving the air box etc. Do the drivers side first as it is easier.
What are you replacing them with? I went to 6 watt LED with is a nice white light BUT not bright enough in daylight so I have ordered 32 watt LED's on Ebay and i will upgrade once they are delivered.
It really is a job that most guys are suited to, You are searching around in the dark for a little hole and trying to stick something into it!!
Good Luck
Cameron

haha yeah. the passenger side particularly painful. especially the 'oh I did not have to struggle with the covers' bit.

I went with 6k LEDs. didnt want them too blue or bright being parking lights. unfortunately they are a slightly different shade as my xenon's. but.. mehs.

was thinking of getting the lux LEDs. ended up cheaping out and getting random 70oz dollar ones (including delivery). worked alright so far (I.e. 2 days) with no error codes. the install was a bit hairy cause one of the connector pins was a bit soft and bent. :S but alls well in the end. will post a picture when I can.

Mine the turned put alright. friend has a lux set. still way brighter and better.. mine are barely visible in daylight.. which doesn't matter since the DRL on the E87 includes the low beams.. you can see them at night on my Sig )
