NJ Insurance

Stolen thread someone started elsewhere...
I figured since we live in the NJ (tri-state) area and we get fk'd on insurance rates in comparison to the rest of the country, that it would be interesting to see how much everyone pays on their bimmers...

I'll start...
Just picked up insurance today with Geico...
Full coverage - $500 deductibles
30yrs old - clean driving history for the past 6-7yrs
$571/6mo

Not too bad compared to my first car which I was quoted at a ridiculous $5000/yr

NJ Skylands Insurance
07 335i e92 and 04 Dodge Ram
$1800. a year
Full coverage w/ $500. deductible
29 years old with 2 points on license.

Be careful with Geico, my sister had them and they gave her a great quote for the first year, then it went up like crazy for the second year and she didn't get into any accidents or get any points. Just my 2 cents!

That's more than my car payment and insurance combined per month.

What kind of job do you have?

I wish I could have afforded that when I was your age.

yeah that already happened to me when i was previously with Geico, so after a year i just jumped to Progressive, now i'm jumping back to Geico since they are $200 cheaper/yr.
I think if i keep jumping back and forth every yr, ill eventually have no insurance payment

Make sure you read your policy with those shady guys. I don't think they cover you for oem parts. And check to see what your property damage coverage is. My friend showed me his policy and they had him on only $10,000
property damage. Had he had an accident that was his fault, they only would've covered 10k.

I registered my car at my parents place in MD (lower sales tax + lower car insurance).

Anyway, I was on track to get a full year (1k deduct) w/Erie Auto Insurance @ $900/yr, but since I have the car in my corporations name, I needed a corporate account it became $1200/yr. I got 1 speeding ticket last year, other than that, clean driving record.

I'm shopping around as well (since car should be arriving next week)
This thread is good...giving me an idea of what people are getting. Right now, I'm between Geico and Liberty Mutual. Lib Mutual was offering 800/6 months or 1600/year

Clean driving record no tickets
500 deduct

31 yo...clean record - $1100/yr with a $500 deductible (Geico)

Also depends on what part of Jersey you live at.

Newark was once called the car theft capital, so I can imagine insurance rates there would be sky high.

yeah when i was signing up over the phone the Geico rep was telling me about that... I told her that i would need to read the fine print before agreeing to any type of extended warranty... So shes going to mail me the info.. lets see just how much this extended warranty covers and what type of limitations are built in... you should do the same and read the policy before jumping on board.

most of the items are covered but there's a $250 deductible for each claim. Still beats any warranty policies out there
