Estimated weight of your new M3/M4

So just for fun/discussion - what would be your guess for the way you would equip your own F8x M3/M4? Obviously we will know more about weight after Detroit debut - but until then, here is my guess:

First - Assume 3305 lbs for an M4 with new manual transmission, CCB, carbon fiber roof and lightest OEM wheels available as a "baseline" (as new M4 will be "under" 1500kg or 3306 lbs):

F80 M3: maybe 35 extra pounds just for body (approximate weight difference between E90 and E92 M3); 11 extra pounds vs CF trunk on F82; 2 extra pounds roof (F82 CF roof weight savings is 13lbs, vs only 11lb weight savings for F80); 70 lbs for DCT transmission (old manual 44 lbs lighter than DCT in E9x M3 - new manual 26lbs lighter - so assuming new DCT (from current M5/M6) same weight as DCT from E9x); and finally - steel brakes instead of CCB - 40 lbs.

So - my F80 M3 as I would
Equip it would be approx. 3463 lbs. (3305+35+11+2+70+40). Actually - I just remembered EDC v. Non adjustable shocks probably would add weight on top of that - no idea how much more though.

Anyone hazard a guess of weight difference for EDC v non adjustable shocks?

Actually I just thought of something else - the approximate 35 lb difference between E90M3 and E92M3 assumes carbon fiber roof on E92, but steel roof (no moon roof) on E90. So I may have "double counted" the weight of roof on F80 - which would mean reduce my estimated weight by about 11lbs (now 3452 lbs)...

But still need a guess as to weight difference between EDC and non adjustable shocks...

I've seen estimates of the EDC option to add ~10 lbs.

Well I weighed my car a few months ago. Electric/heated seats and satnav, it was filled up. 1518kg.= est 3350lbs.

I really hope a bigger car with DCT etc will weigh only 100lbs more. We'll see.

Cheers

My guess is 3,500 pounds if I weighed it myself with all fluids and 1/4 tank gas - no driver.

Manual trans, maybe full leather interior, no other options, sedan.

I think this is spot on, around 3470 - 3510 when you throw it up on a corner balance scale. Power seats and a heavy battery are your easy weight reductions.

1655-80=1575kg (3472 lbs)

As i understood M4 gone weight ~80kg less then E92 m3.
So on the documents standart option m4 ~ 1575kg or 3472lbs
And around 1500 (3306) on scales
