Paint M Sport diffuser?
Has anyone painted the diffuser on their F34 M Sport? At least in the teaser pics, I really don't like the matte(?) gray diffuser, so I'm considering having it painted to match the rest of the (Estoril Blue) body. Obviously, I won't make a final decision until I see the car in person.
Is the material of a type that can be painted to match? Thanks! |

Hi I haven't seen a GT diffuser painted but I have seen various other 3 series with this mod and it doesn't suit the car. One option is to paint it gloss black or get it wrapped with a carbon effect material?

Last I knew, the car was sitting in Bremerhaven. It'll be a few weeks before I can post any pics.

As I mentioned, I've only got the teaser pics to go on right now, and the low angle makes the diffuser really stand out. Hopefully, I won't dislike it so much in person. From the pics, the large gray M Sport diffuser actually looks like a mod; I much prefer the more subtle appearance of the diffuser on the other lines.

335ix GT Front View
Here's a pic of my 335ix GT. I've had it since Sept 2nd. I have the M Sport package. Car is Mineral Grey Metallic. Tint is 30 front, 15 rear (Florida legal limits).
The diffuser is the same color as the rest of the car...

What is the orange stripe over the front wheel arch? I've seen this on several photos of the GT, but equally many don't have it. Is it something unique to the US models and what is it for?

I think you're correct, it appears to be a turn indicator? I don't know how I never noticed it before, but now that you point it out, I really don't like it! Maybe I'll paint the lens when it comes

The orange stripe is a reflector. I have never noticed if it flashes with the turn signal or not. I have had trouble taking photos of the car with a flash because it reflects so much light.

Did you get the DHP with your car. Im doing ED in March. Mineral grey with red interior. M sport package with 19's but am debating on ordering aftermarket 20's and a bunch of other stuff. But I also ordered the DHP and was wondering if that is even worth it. |

I did get the DHP. The car I bought was FULLY loaded, and it was the only 335 GT I could find without having to order and wait...I wasn't keen on having to wait for my car, when I was already waiting since June when I heard they were coming out with the 3GT in the summer of 2014, and I saw the promotions and euro reviews.
It's had to tell if the DHP is worth $1K because I haven't driven the same car without the DHP. I can definitely feel the difference in the suspension when I switch to SPORT or SPORT+, how much of that is due to the adaptive M suspension, which is part of the DHP, I don't really know, but it feels significantly stiffer compared to COMFORT mode, and reduces pitch and roll. BTW, the rear diffuser also matches the body/bumper color on the US models. The orange reflector and the color matching must be for the American market.

It is just a reflector, i believe for US models. I am in Germany and I have it while the Germans don't have one. Just a country specific standard.

This is not true. The rear diffuser on M-sport cars is painted in a color called "dark shadow metallic," which is a nice deep dark glossy color. When you have a mineral grey car it's hard to see the difference but it's there. Other colors (silver, estoril blue, etc) make the contrast quick striking.

This is my first BMW and my first car with Active Cruise Control......this is an AWESOME Option. I ordered all of the options available for this car except for Concierge Service. I didn't need it since I am currently in Germany and the Concierge Service was only good in the US. This is a US Spec 335 GT. The trunk space is great as you can see in the picture. I was even able to fit a 70" LED TV, out of the box, laying in the back. |
