Cool M6 coupe vs M5

M6 GC vs M5

After watching Chris Harris take on M6 GC vs E63S vs Jag XFR begs the question of M6 GC vs M5?
Especially when BMW says that 0.3 sec faster than M5 0-60 mph,,, why? M6 GC not that much lighter and more powerful!!

Am I the only one who doesn't see M6 especially front end more beautiful?
Rear looks amazing hands down M6
But Front no way I will take M5 hands down,, and what matters more about a car is the front. ..
I believe E63 looks hideous front and back - LOL

LOL
If you are no Mechanic then don't say these are the turbos because they are not - As far as I know - But I am no mechanic either ... anybody who's a better mechanic can chime in where they are -

I've driven both on track, and while I appreciate the styling of the M6GC, the car is just not as sharp as the M5. I don't care what any review states.

As far as track performance is concerned:
M6 > M5 > M6GC

There is no correlation between BMWs reported hp and acceleration figures and the truth. Those numbers are determined by the marketing department not the Motorsport engineering department.

In other words the M6GC is not faster than the M5, and your question is the wrong question and it's a waste of time worry about.

But it is 4 sec flat without launch control stealth.pilot?
Which is probably faster than M5 without LC..
And seems faster per Chris Harris who was like surprised with how it performed!!
It is bigger than M5 but like 50 pounds lighter, right?

I've rattled off 3.80 second 0-60 times without launch control not even trying hard in the F10 M5. As stealth says...published specs are very underrated. My car stock puts out ~620bhp.

Agreed. In fact, I would say that the M5 is likely faster. The M6 coupe-different story.

The hp reports are in fact bogus, as is common with many manufacturers.

You are the track guy but I am going to com[pare based on road experience. M6>M5 because of lower center of gravity and shorter wheelbase.

Not that I have analyzed the differences between the M5/M6 to any extent, there is one factor that could explain why the M6 is a touch quicker from a standing start and that is the wider section rear tires, providing slightly more traction...

The M5 has 295 rear tires vs 305 rear tires for the M6

And as regards the stated 560hp number. In the last edition of German Auto Bild Sportscars, they wrote that the acceleration in the higher gears, was "far to good" for it's stated 575hp... (it was a comparison test with RS7, CLS 63 S AMG and Panamera Turbo)

Interesting since I owned them both concurrently albeit stateside and they both had 295x30x20 tires. In fact when I got them, the 305x30x20 wasnt even out yet for PSS.

I never ran them side by side as I have yet to figure out how to drive two cars at once LOL .... but my ass always told me that the M6 was faster from a roll and even a dig.

Seems the brochures now state 295/30R20, maybe I just had the dimensions confused... My bad

That is the impression I got from a couple of revjews...
In any case I am no big fan of how big the M6 GC yet I love it's rear but never cared for the front or to be more specific head lights ...

But somehow I feel it will be faster and might actually be tuned to be so by M department...

Thanks Vic55 for chiming in..
Are there any cars there were not in your stable? -
Hahahahah ha

Same experience with my Dinan 550i 501/580 hp/tque vs M5 in regards to underrated HP UT probably not torque as DCT limits torque on M5...

As there is no way difference between both cars is just 60 hp at least I will conservatively say 100 if not more.. But again that is butt dyno which can be deceptive.... As weirdly I feel that 550i is less fast when same speed like let's say 80 mph my M5 you feel the speed may be exhauste and steering feel... may be cause only vice of 650i is diaconnectedness...
Horse power difference felt at higher gears and speeds between both.. and I even test drove CLS 2012 PP and I am positive it felt slower but louder than F10 M5 for sure..

IMHO
My 2 cents
