USA options/standard thread

So base on BMWUSA.com, Nav is standard and leather is a $1450 option (or get premium pkg) for additional $850? Also the sunroof is standard?

Or are they still working on that?

nav is not standard, but iDrive is. You get 6.5 inch screen instead of the 8inch HD screen.

Sunroof is standard, on M235i

No surprise really. Build a similar optioned 135i (leather, msport, tech), the M235i has only a $600-700 premium.

the two main packages seems to be whether or not to get the technology package and whether to get the premium package... crap, hate that they lumped something as potentially healthful as lumbar support into the freggin premium package... i mean i want lumbar, keyless access, and ambient lights, thats it... and wanting any of these, i'm forced to also get dakota leather and the whole premium package.... now you say the idrive is already there, regardless of getting the technology package or not... is the tech pkg also the NAV then?

The rest of the world gets a beautiful Alcantara Hexagon Cloth Option as a base interior. We get vinyl! BMW USA in all its lame wisdom believes that faux leather maintains that appearance of Luxury more than ultimate-driving-machine alcantara/cloth. They have also made active suspension standard....if you want it but no delete option. Porsche has alcantara, Audi S line does too but BMW USA doesn't get it. They did this with the 1 series too trying to keep it LUXURY even though it was an economy model in the rest of the world without the economy price!

I find it very disturbing that the rest of the world can get Alcantara at base price except USA. I guess we don't deserve it???

Has anyone else had trouble with the 228i configuration screens? I select M-Sport, then select mineral white and it deletes the M-Sport. Same thing with sensatec and manual transmission. Last week the oyster color leather came up $0--should have bought it then! They have some amateurs doing the web site. The M235 and 3 series also have the same dumb problems. Tried the Audi site yesterday for the A3 and it has the same problems.

It's the Obamacare people working on it, you should get a subsidy on your purchase also.

My Macan had a 200 page option list to decipher. Well not quite but it was ridiculous. BMW is bad and the packages are annoying if you only care about one or two items, but Porsche is a million times worse.

I am sure if they charge $1000 for Alcantara Hexagon Cloth Option, someone would buy it.

Very true - the Porsche options are extensive and combinations harder to decipher than BMW.
