How do I get just my halos to come on automatically

So I can turn just my halos on if I switch the headlight switch on the left over one click like if it were pointing to 1 o'clock. But if its straight up and down it wont come on automatically.
Id like for the halos to come on during day without me having to remember to switch them on

Don't think you can do that on a pre-LCI, can you?

If you have Nav then you can get to the DRL setting using the menu. Something like Settings > Lighting.

If this is a pre-LCI sedan then no you can't do it.
Turn off day time running lights, which in your case a halogens and then set the light switch to parking. That's pretty much the only way you can get the halos on without the headlights in a pre-LCI sedan.

I have pre lci as well. Winter been killing my battery especially since I'm not using the car as much.

If it was working before just take it for a long drive it should come back on once the battery has enough charge to distribute to the non essential things.

If you have I drive you can check by going to settings then lighting it should be checked. If you don't have I drive and it was on before... Money is on low power on the battery.

If I'm not mistaken, you'd need to make sure you have a FRM2 or FRM3 if you want to code angel eyes as DRL. However, if you already have one of those then it's likely to be coded already.

If you switch the lights to the setting that looks like this ><, do they come on? If you do this, don't forget to switch them off or they'll stay on

I have a pre-lci e92 and my halos come on automatically as soon as I turn the car on, even with the switch in the off position... And I don't have I-drive.

This is what I was told if the car original did not support angle eyes as DRL you have to make modification update the FRM to the latest version and then have it coded to have them come on.

I have been looking for a step by step instruction to update the FRM on my car, but I have only found people who have done it and ran into all sort of issue.

I didn't run into any issues when I did it. Just to be clear, the FRM is a physical piece in your car. If you don't have one, you need to go buy one or rip one out at a junkyard.

As for coding, there are a lot of ppl on the forum that can help you with that.

yeah I know it is hardware, and i realize i can buy it for a few hundred $ and swap it, but as I have seen it now as simple if plugging it in, it does required coding include putting in the VIN and other things.

All pre-lci 335i (not sure about 328i) COUPES have this capability. The AEs automatically come on once you start he car.
