Must Have Accessory!
This is for anyone who wants to stream music from their phone wirelessly through Bluetooth on their iPhone!!!
Took 5 secs to set up!! 20 BUCKS!!!! Xtreme Mac's BT Connect Plugs directly into the headphone jack and streams wirelessly from your phone... Such a good find for the price UPDATE: I have had issues with this and I am RETURNING! It will only play for 3 or four songs then you have to turn bluetooth off and on on the phone. I will be trying other options I have found in this post.

Yep - the aux cord with the combo usb charge cord works great. If using an Iphone 5 you also need the 30-pin to lightning adapter. The hell with bluetooth - big battery drain.

The car should have come standard with BT streaming, since it has BT calling anyway. |

Not sure which model year got the BT audio capability. For sure, 2007 didn't have it. Without it, you need the Y-Cable, which is a PITA. Sometimes the connection flakes out and you have to unplug the Y-cable from the console (USB and headphone jack) and plug it back in. Usually this happens while underway on the highway; not an easy thing to do. I usually put the car on cruise-control, remove the seat belt, turn around into a kneeling position on the driver's seat - facing the rear - and then open the console and unplug/plug.
Some of the Y-cables I've purchased have been flaky, and I've been through several in the last 3 years. Got the last one from the dealer and it's been fine. I recently got a cracked-screen iPhone for free, loaded all my music onto it and keep it permanently plugged in. My only worry is battery drain.

I smash my wire all the time, yet to notice interference. Those cables are cheap too. Cool product though.

I would like to be able to stream iHeart Radio from my iPhone but my 2008 E90 CIC system can't do that. So, I've just got my iPod plugged into the audio w/the y-cable in the console.
Looks like the OP's talking about this device to get streaming: http://www.amazon.com/XtremeMac-Blue.../dp/B00B9NATUI Reviews are mixed. Apparently Android users have no problems but it reportedly doesn't work well for Apple iOS 6+users. So, it's no good to me.

How is sound quality? Most of those Bluetooth wireless adapters made the stereo sound like a tin-can.
Does it compare to cd quality at all?

Blue tooth compression still exists. It's come a long way though. Does anyone know what version of BT our CIC's have?
In general though, BT is not about best quality but it should be acceptable. BT is about portability and convenience.

Might have to check this out. How come I always have to turn up the radio when I'm using aux? And even then the quality isn't all that great. Then I switch back to FM and it's loud af. Any help?

If you're using a 3.5mm Aux you can change the gain from the menu. Have you seen that option?
Mine looks like this: View post on imgur.com
