Good insurance company? Esurance is ripping me off

I'm 31 years old, squeaky clean driving record, been a customer for 8 years, and they are still charging me $160 a month for my 2010 328i with $1000 deductible on collision and comprehensive. That's insanity. It's time to go shopping, any opinions on who to go with?

Look at all of them, depending on your location/age/credit/history, different companies will have different rates. So best rate for one person may be highest for another. A long time ago, I was with American Express, now Ameriprise. My rates started out low but went up year after year and then I shopped around and found that State Farm would give me a lot more coverage for less than half the price and much lower deductible. But for other people, State Farm is the highest rate.

Quotes are free, so just shop around at all the companies. FWIW, I pay like $90 combined for my 335 and Infiniti FX per month so I'd think you could do better.

I went the opposite way, from Geico to Esurance because Geico was way more expensive by me. Just quote around and see if anyone can beat the Esurance price. You might just be in an expensive area. Lots of accidents, thefts, or high-dollar cars around can cause an area to zone as "more expensive" for an insurance company.

Think I'm paying around $300/6 months for insurance on the 335d. State Farm, been with them 10+ years with a clean record. Full coverage, legal limits for everything.

Liberty Mutual is the BMWCCA and BMWUSA partner; they're ok and highly rated.
I have Farmers, rates aren't the best but my agent is good.
American Family is highly rated by customers.
USAA if you can.

For a clean record that's seems reasonable, my rates are ridiculous from totals and tickets though so idk several places just flat out denied me. Gl let us know what kinda quotes you get.

esurance? internet car insurance? I didn't think anyone actually bought their insurance from the internet. I get my car insurance from a place that has an actual address.

I have Allstate which is who owns Esurance. Rates depend on a lot more factors than age and driving history. The largest factor that most people forget about is zip code. When I moved last year my rate went way down. When shopping for rates it's a good idea to speak to an actual agent in your neighborhood rather than doing everything online or over the phone.

I have gotten lower quotes from other carriers but I have to say that Allstate's claim process and customer service has been top-notch. You get what you pay for. I personally wouldn't choose to switch based solely on price, unless I really felt I was getting the shaft.

Just finished signing up with Geico. I am 24 years old with around 5 speeding tickets and 1 minor accident. My premium is now $920 every 6 months. Allstate was renewing me for $1375.

Go to Geico.com and get a free quote man. Its quick. I was super surprised at my quote.

If you can get USAA (Either you served, or was passed down to you), they are great. I am 29 with a clean record and pay $630 a year for full coverage for my 07 328xi w/$1,000 deductible.

Exactly what I thought. In Quebec Canada I pay 400$US a year for a 2009 328. Clean record, I'm 32.

Amica Mutual. I've already written basically the same post over and over again in various threads about them, but they're incredible. I'd never heard of them when I started shopping but saw that they'd received highest customer satisfaction for JD Power for something like 12 years running, behind only USAA and one other company not available to the general public -- and that was a few years ago. They also happened to quote me the lowest rate. Ordinarily I'd be wary of the lowest rate for fear they would lowball me on premiums and then screw me over if I ever had a claim, but the ratings convinced me to give them a shot.

Since getting them, I've had one claim that was the other person's fault, but she and/or her insurance was sketchy, so my insurance initially couldn't track her down after the accident, meaning I would lose my deductible even though she'd been determined at fault. Amica called me 8 MONTHS later saying they'd finally tracked her down and gotten her insurance company to pay, so I'd be getting my deductible back. The even more amazing thing to me was that the amount Amica had paid on my claim was less than my deductible, so they were working primarily for me there. Now that's customer service.

I've also added my wife's car and a renter's insurance policy in the past few years, and every time I've called them about some change or question, I get off the phone thinking they were an absolute pleasure to deal with.
