Interior: Door handle wear... warranty?

I have 21k miles on my car...
the interior door handle seems to be experiencing some rapid wear/tear. I.e. my nails have scratched off some of the "film" in the interior door handle.

It seems pretty apparent... so will warranty cover this? just curious

They're replace it under warranty under most cases.
Some dealers will only do it once

Door handle replacement

It is a known problem on the cars. Volkswagens seem to have a problem with the top layer of the plastic coming off like this as well. For a while the parts were back ordered so check with the dealer before taking it in. My dealer replaced without a problem but broke the multifunction switch during the replacement which had to be ordered as well.

Anyone get their dented aluminum trim replaced under warranty? I know of one guy getting it replaced but that is it.

the coating is known to be worn out due to lotions we use.

Very well known Issue. Just have the dealer replace it. BMW says they have "updated" the part but I still have seen peeling issues. Just be careful with whats on your hands!
