M5 Reps on 2014 335i MSport (fitment question)

Hey guys,

Looking for a little help. I have trouble wrapping my mind around offsets and tire width. Please let me know your thoughts on the following:

Front 19" 8.5" 235/35 Offset 35
Rear 19" 9.5" 265/30 Offset 35

I dont want the wheels sticking out or have rubbing issues.

Lastly if you were me and could get the same rims with offsets of 33/37 would that be your preference?

Thanks a lot!

35 offset in the rear will stick out definitely, as the F30 has a 47 offset in the rear, the front will be fine though.
I have the M6 GC wheel which was also 35 offset and when we fitted them the rear stuck out by about 3/4inch But I had the wheels shaved and they strengthened it with inserts (not sure what it is) I have them on for about 6 months now and no issues.

The other way that would work is modifying the suspension but I'm not sure how that works.

Bernard335, what was your wheel width. Based on my research a 19x9.5 ET35 wheel shouldn't stick out by 3/4". It should in fact be almost flush.

With your research the wheel would still be tucked in ny 3/4"? That sounds ok to me. What size tires are you using when you calculate?

Thanks!

My rears are 9.5J were originally a 35 offset and have 255/35/19.

This is from personal experience, I went to fit the wheels and left without fitting, tried my best to get 2 rear 45 offset wheels to South Africa, but no luck. So then I took a gamble and had them shaved and strengthened, they now about a 42 or 43 offset and sit flush and so far I have no issues.

Look I didn't physically get a ruler or tape measure but I measured it by sight, even if its 1/2 or 3/4 inch out, it still sticks out

Thanks for the insight Bernard. I have some 19x9.5 ET35 wheels fitted with 265/30/19 tires in my garage. I took it by the shop and put them on just for the sake of seeing what they would look like and I must say, I LOVED the look. Very aggressive indeed!

They did not stick out by 3/4" though. They were essentially flush. I would be concerned about putting a 265/35/19 Michelin PSS tire on there though. I'll be taking it to my performance shop and asking them to test fit it for me and give me their impressions on whether it would fit without rub. It seems like it would be a close call on the 435 without a fender roll.

Will you stay on stock suspension?
If so the rears will be too aggressive. But on a lowered car they are perfect.

Then it will be outside the fender but probably no problem with rubbing, just comes down to if you like that look or not. I think it looks stupid, like you bought the wrong wheels.

And, being outside the fender is in many countries illegal!
Look stupid for sure.

The rear does for sure, if I drop it and rub, not sure how that will end :-(

I agree with you both. I do not like my wheels sitting outside the fender at all. It's just not my preferred look. I'll be giving it a try and seeing if I like the results. I want to use this set of rims as my summer set since I have winters on my OEM 19s.

so if I decide to get m5 rep 20"'s is any way of getting tires and not getting to stick out? even if lowered with H&R sports and also get no rubbing? or should I just stick to getting 19"'s?

Where can one have the wheels shaved if need be?
