Painting calipers

What are the options for painting calipers? I recall the paint kits that could be applied to non-painted calipers, but they were pretty cheesy. What would be the options for painting our nice calipers? Is that a powder coating job? What about the ///M graphics - are they applied over the finished product or under a clear coat?

Or should I just buy the M-Performance brake kit in the color I want and then sell the stock blue ones?

Just take them off and have them painted the color you want. you can use auto paint. Just make sure the shop that is painting knows what they are doing. I have had many calipers painted and it turns out fine.

Really not looking forward to bleeding the brakes just for this. I would be willing to pay extra to BMW to sell me stock calipers in matching colors But, alas...

you would have to put a new decal on. Its really not that complicated to do. Ive done it a lot with Brembos. you just clear over the decal at the end. turns out perfect.

I really wish they came in a more 'neutral' color as stock, or they painted them the color of the car... IMO, the CCB yellow looks awful with, say, SO or AW. Likewise, the standard blue clashes with YMB and looks pretty bad with SO.

Also, if you paint them yourself (have them painted), does that void any warranty/maintenance?? I'm guessing yes, which is why a factory option would be even better.

Strange that you don't get to choose a color like I read on the M235 forum. I thought you could choose from Red, Blue or Orange for the M235.

The calipers are the same, so just purchase a set from Tischer or something. I'm swapping my gold M-Performance calipers off of my 335i and only the M3 (..and selling the blue calipers).

I'm glad I'm not the only one bothered by the blue - does anyone think it will be possible to replace the decal as mentioned above?

There are many options you can do as far as Painting the Calipers. We have done countless calipers, as well as the YMB M4 last week, and our Black M4 this week!

Give us a call if you are in the Southern California Area

YMB with YMB Carbon Ceramic Brakes

Suzuka Grey on Audi Exclusive Samviolet Metallic Calipers

Ibis White on Porsche Mexico Blue Calipers

Sepang Blue on Sepang Blue Calipers (my old baby)

Phantom Black on Lamborghini Monterey Blue Calipers

Ibis White on Porsche Speed Yellow Calipers

Suzuka Grey on Suzuka Grey Calipers

Sounds great! We just need it for 2-3 days max. Typically we get it done sooner but gonna best to be safe with 3 days

Let me know when!

Nice work for sure - how about I ship my calipers to you this winter? I haven't had much luck with this kind of stuff in my area.
