Has anyone considered installating screens (with inbuildt DVD) into the headrests?

As above...

Im currently exploring options around this for the sake of my 4 year old but I actually want this to be independent from the I drive..

Scared to start cutting into the headrests but im sure it must have been done before!

How about a headrest mount for the iPad (assuming you have one or a couple laying around at home)?

I have to admit, that seems very expensive for what it is..

Ideally id like something that is fully integrated into the car, ie build into the headrests and looks part of the original car

I know Rosen do some units but it seems as though they supply the actual head rest itself...Im not overly keen on this unless it is exactly the same as the standard M5 one

It was just to show you what it would look like. Many other companies have a similar mount for the iPad(s) to use in the car.

I would assume, it'd be more $ for a cleaner OEM look. I never explored those options though.

Now, this is what the OEM screens/ solution would have looked if ordered from the factory.

And this is Rosen's solution it would seem, very clean and actually better looking than the OEM protuberance from the back seats.

Would be happy to go with the Rosen solution as long as the leather matched the rest of the seat and the headrest was a like for like replacement

I had a set from Vizualogic in my E60. Worked well, but the problem is that they match the leather to the general 5 series and not the M5. I also think that ther may be some head restraint fucntion played by the stock headrest, so I would want to confirm that, if there is, it isn;t affected by the swap out.

What about aomething like this:

Has anyone tried to retrofit the Rear Seat Entertainment package?
