THANKS!!!
~Removed all the parts
~polished & reinstalled

Took about 3-4 hrs.

The longest part if the process was taking the center console apart.
We do this all the time in my shop so it might take me a little less time than the DIY guy.

WOW! Great work. I need to find a local shop that can do this for me. Mine has many fine scratches as well.

please share the secret? I'd love to know how this can be done, possibly without removing the center?

You have the secret! Just do what you don't want to do and it's that easy. I'm not saying by any means it is going to be easy to remove but after it's removed very easy to polish to perfection.

very nice work.. Here is a question.. If you tape around the aluminum parts and polish with the wood in place would you be able to get the same result?

Thanks,
MBA

No. The best results are when you take out. Removing the center consol is very very easy. (Actually all the parts just pop out.
There is lots of vibration when you polish and it might tear up and electronics if you try
To polish while in car.
Porter cable polisher
Meguiars 2 stage polish

Anyone wants it's done I will be glad to polish if you remove and send to me.
Small fee.

Looks a million times better, but how did it get scratched like that in the first place?

How did you hold/secure the panels so you could work on them?

I have a 3 inch piece of foam I set them on, then I polish. The polishing is done with vibration so they do not move around very much. No need to secure

This is a pretty easy job if you have any experience detailing vehicles. I did the same job in about an hour taking all the parts out using my Meguiars DA microfiber system. Coated with Cquartz uk and much more durable now.
