Just dropped my car off for service....

So I just dropped off my e92 335i for service and he goes the following things will be done to your car....oil change, full brake checkup, SCOPE???, and something else. My question is what does scope mean, im not sure what he meant by that. I have the AA xede equipped on my car and its on the stock map mode so I am wondering when they do this so called scope if they will bother with the ECU at all. BTW my service guy did compliment all my aftermarket things on my car such as my wheels, sound system, bov, and exhaust and encouraged my to do some body work so im guessing this guy is pretty mod friendly and wont give me a hard time. They will probably hook it up to their diags machine and see if there are any fault codes stored.

Not sure, I think it is an inspection of either the brake system, or the engine. They did it on our 06 325I at its first service. Regular scheduled maint. I believe if you look in the owners manual, when you first turn on the car, it is one of the service lights you will see when you first turn on the car.

yes, when I first turn on the car there is a service sign lite up in red and when i turn the car off the yellow oil sign comes up. He did mention that they would be checking the brakes and then he mentioned the "scope" so i dont think its about the brakes when they will do the scope. Mike.

scope means they will scan the ECU for errors or codes. hopefully your AA xcede will not mess that up and void the warranty.
