ED without BMW FS
Does anyone have experience with doing ED and financing through a bank other than BMW FS?
I would like to get the better rate and term of my credit union (or someone like PenFed) and also not have to deal with the pain of refinancing after the car arrives state side. The only real hangup I see is not being able to get the title to the bank for a few months after that purchase. |

Good question. I am interested as well. I typically finance my BMWs with a credit union as they provide very attractive long term rates.

Might be interested in that as well... even though my dealer says BMW is the only option.
I'd like to go PenFed, but guess there's no way in for me. Any other credit union in the South-Eastern part that does comparably good deals?

I will be financing through a CU as well, and from what I understand the main issue is that with ED, it takes a while for your title to be issued and sent to the CU. As long as the CU is aware of that and good with it, it should not be a problem.

Last time I bought a car (through Penfed) I had issues with the title (Used car, private seller) and didn't get it in time. After 3-4 months of getting letters from PF, I got a notice that they were raising my rates to something ridiculous. I called, explained the situation, and they said they'd give me another two weeks before jacking up my rate, but that they would reduce it permanently once they got the title.
I'm planning on doing ED with PenFed. It's not like they will come repo the car if the title is a little late. |

I'm going with DCU personally.
But PenFed "should" be familiar with the ED process. Sounds liek Racer20 had a bad run in the past though?
