Spare Tire Purchase.
In the coming months I'm buying a new set of wheels. I really want to go non RFT because of how expensive they can be and how rough they are. I'll be making a lot of trips from Bay Area and LA a lot over the coming years, so the idea of not having a spare is a bit scary (i do have AAA but I'd rather have a spare than wait for them to give me a tow from who knows where I'll be)
Where do people get their donut/spare tires for their bimmers?? And this is really silly but if i run 18's that also means I'd have to have an 18" spare. Sorry for the super long post lol. Last edited by KevinThePanda; 04-16-2014 at 07:09 PM.. |

I bought this one with the jack. It was kinda expensive but it works out great. I used it once for about 10 miles and had no clearance or driving problems.
http://www.bimmerzone.com/BMW_Perfor...T-E90-KIT.html The overall diameter of your wheels and tires should closely match this. It may be within 0.5" which I understand is ok for our cars (no AWD/LSD issues). |

We don't sell a spare tire/wheel setup, but I have heard of some forum guys buying a spare setup from LeatherZ.com .

dont waste money on a spare kit! search eBay and grab a stock wheel and tire and toss it in your trunk. I actually have an 18" 07 335 front wheel that has a plugged runflat on it. my buddy was a master tech at bmw. they toss runflats with nail holes (bmw policy is they wont plug them) so he gave me a like new tire that was plugged.
I caught a flat with my 19" inch vmr's and used this setup for a week commute roughly 300 miles+. no issues at all. had to wait for my new rims to come in!!!! |

The point of a true spare is also to save space. That would pretty much take up the whole trunk, if you're going to carry it always. Not a big deal if you don't necessarily use the trunk. |
