Mileage upon delivery
What would be the maximum mileage you'd expect to see when you go to take delivery at the dealer? I'd like to get on the same page with my dealer in terms of not allowing anyone to test drive mine, and ideally I'd like to say that I'd expect there to be no more than X miles. Just not sure whether they do some shakedown after production in Germany or whatever.

So my wife's 328i last year had 394 miles on it when we picked it up. I didn't really think about it that much when I picked it up, but now I'm waiting for my 228i which I also ordered from the same dealer...

+1 the M235 is my 5th BMW - none have had more than 10 miles on the clock when I took delivery. The M235 had 5.

I've actually specified who at the dealership is allowed to drive my car. Will they listen? Probably not. But just asking and suspending my disbelief has worked wonders for my OCD.

I made sure the dealer did not wash it, get gas, or even move it until I got there. It pretty much sat in the showroom floor until I arrived, then they moved it out and I got gas myself (using their card of course) :P.

When i took delivery of my 135i at the performance center in SC it only had 2 miles. I told my sales person this and he was said well they take it to get gas. The gas station is only .25 miles down the road. My car better not have more then 5 miles on it.

So how much fuel ships with these cars from the factory? I would imagine just a gallon or two, yeah? Along the lines of some of the comments here, I'm thinking that if I insist that the dealer not fuel the car, that would be a good way to ensure that no one drives it.
