optional sizes for style 157 17" wheel

Hey all, hope you can help with this. I have the oem 157 17" wheel which normally takes a 225/45/17 tire. I'd like to go wider if possible, but what alternate size would be best? It's an 06 330xi so I'd like to stay square all around. According to calculators I could run 235/45/17 or 245/40/17. Would that be a good idea? or should I just stick with oem size? Thanks!

I would suggest the 235/45/17
