Can you chrome plate bbs reps machined step lip, or polish to a mirror finish.
As the title states I'm buying a set of bbs reps with a clear coat machined lip but I want a chrome lip or mirror polish finish .. Since they are one piece wheels as they are reps has anyone done this etc ... Most se happy with the machined look bug I just see auth bbs with chrome look and they just loom that much better to me.. I want to keep the centres hyper black still. Anyone's insight would be great

You can hand polish them to a mirror finish. I think you have to strip the clear coat off the lips 1st. A few guys did it on Varrstoens years ago when I was on the G35 forums. Looks pretty damn fantastic too.

You can definitely polish just the lips, but it's going to be annoying maintaining the finish. If you were looking to plate them, I'm pretty sure you would have to plate the whole wheel, and it would cost a lot more than if you just polished them yourself.
