Another JB4 pinout gone horribly wrong! HELP!
I know there are a ton of these threads but I searched and didn't find anything exactly like Im experiencing. Anyways I ordered the Pinout jb4 g5 ISO from a forum member here.
Attempted to install. Connected to DME double checked connections, attempted to start vehicle, car would just turn over. Went back disconnected reconnected everything, same bs. Car is my DD so I disconnected everything and tried to return to stock. its now 8pm dark. Pissed off trying to get my hvac stuff installed. Fire up car it finally starts. Now its stuck in limp mode. Any Ideas would greatly be appreciated. Closet BMW dealer is 140 miles away and I have a doctors appt at 3 today. Service engine light soon as well as engine malfunctions reduced power. feels like there is no boost. |

all 3 smaller ones can get swapped if you force them too hard. that is why it is recommended to do each subconnector 1 by 1. first time i installed the smaller one from the right side of the car into the left. deal will NOT be able to figure it out very easily. only reason i figured it out was i saw a photo that showed which colors go where |

yeah I actually noticed that when I went to put it back together I was forcing them in. I went and reviewed the pdf and figured it out. Good suggestion though. Id like to add, it did start once with the box connected but every fault light came on and the steering wheel had no connection with the JB. So something is messed up.

My problem recently was not shoving the power pin up far enough.

So I just went through and checked all the connection s on the dme. Looks like there is no wire In the large black subconnector... Supposed to be a yellow boost wire however there are three wires that are solid yellow in the black sub any ideas?

There is a reason they discontinued the professional pin out harness. It was meant for experienced shops only.
You probably placed a wire in the wrong spot or mixed up a connector. Best bet is to find someone else with a stock car to compare with or photos of stock wiring to compare with. Mike |

You can order the box from their website for 150 bucks. Regarding your pinout harness, you might be able to send it to them and see if they can upgrade it for you.
