spacers, lowering sequence
Hi everyone
Summer is here and I'm beginning my summer project. I have a 2010 e92. I'm looking to possibly change out the wheels, put in a few spacers, and maybe lower the car. I'm looking at a set of 189 wheels. I've researched enough on them to know that they will fit, and that they can be spaced. What I want to know is what is the best sequence for these changes? Obviously putting the tires on first, then measuring the tire/wheel well edge for spacer distance, putting in spacers, then lowering the car? I'm a total newbie. Thanks for reading. |

You got the sequence down. I actually put some spacers in the rear first but nothing major. 12mm just to take care of the major gap prior to installing my suspension. Now that I have my suspension in and my drop where i want it I am working on spacers. I will be moving my 12mm up front and installing 15mm in the rear. I'm LCI and from what I've read I have less room than Pre-LCI.

Haha...actually this is the way to go. Problem is it doesn't always work out.
Aftermarket wheels can be ordered in a multitude of spacing but there is always the issue of getting too aggressive. I've seen a lot of people end up with wheels that constantly rub and end up selling them. Spacers allow you to come in conservative then work your way out until you get fitment exactly where you want it.

Put the wheels and tires on, lower your car, measure, and then get the spacers.
