What clutch to use in my 335i

Hi all,

I drive a BMW e92 335i 2009 with the following setup:

JB4
Bigger IC
Catless DP

And, sometimes, 20% e85-mix along with the ordinary 98 octane pump fuel.

The problem is that when I use the e85 the clutch tend to slip on third and fourth gear at 3500+ rpm. Ive decided to get myself a new clutch but dont know which one since I dont know how much torque the car produces.

I want it to be driveable (can you say so..??) since I use it every day but I also want it to be strong and reliable when pushing the engine to its max.

Ive looked at these two kits:

Street clutch (456 ft lbs):
http://www.**********s.com/ACT-Clutch-N54.htm

Sachs Performance (398 ft lbs):
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Sachs-organis...item4ad45eccbb

SInce I live in Sweden the Sachs is much easier for me to buy as it is within the EU...

Anyone knows what to do?

Thanks,
Andreas

Looks like a lot of guys buy spec 2+ clutch in your situation. A couple of guys are now talking about using the 335is clutch, which would be easier for you to get. Most things I've read about act was negative, I'm not familiar with the other one you mentioned.

335is - no chatter, similar to stock feel, best for your torque levels

Thank you for all response.

I have never thought of the 335is clutch before, but it seems to be a really good alternative! So, if I get this right, this is the OEM clutch for 335is, 550i and 650i?

The price is very attractive too

Thank you,
Andreas

That's correct. Seems like a great way to go for anyone that's FBO on OEM turbos.

Get the 335is clutch with oem flywheel or a spec stg2+. Stay away from act. I had a bad experience with act clutch on my 335i.

The 335is clutch is holding nicely. It cooled off for a few nights and I was seeing 18psi consistently with spikes up to 19psi. Clutch held great. Lot's of 4th gear pulls just to see if it would hold.

Stupid question perhaps but is the 335is clutch for both manual and auto transmission?

Manual only, auto's don't have a clutch they use a torque converter.

Currently running the 335is clutch kit with cdv delete and bronze pivot pin, and it's working great. Stock pedal feel, but you can feel the difference in clamp force.
