Why, oh why?

As it's my birthday, decided that my wife and I would enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the golf club.
On arrival the car park was only half full and I picked a 'safe' space away from any careless parkers.
Walking from the car, I stopped in amazement to watch a women in an A4 convertible ignore the dozens of free parking spaces, and shoehorn her car into a space, between two other cars, that would have been a tight fit for a smart car.
The woman then performed what I can only describe as acrobatics to extricate herself from her car!
Why do they do this?

Firstly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Secondly, I've given up on understanding women's logic and how they operate. My wife, who used to live near and work at Heathrow airport, once drove to work, then completely forgot that she had, and took the bus home!

She also forgets to lock both our cars on a regular basis. Hoping the F30 has some kind of auto-lock timeout feature?!

That makes a nice change, they usually manage to use up 3 spaces parking a Nissan Micra

I get the same thing at work, I park as far away as possible from the building and in a large empty car park and some numpty in an old heap always has to park close to me, even though the car park is almost empty

Yes this kind of thing amazes me - no logic to it. In fact if she parked close to my car when there were other more open spaces available I think I'd be asking why she parked there.

Χρόνια Πολλά = Happy Birthday

Perhaps she felt lonely and wanted the protection of two cars on either side. Or she did not wish to take up too much space and was being thoughtful. Silly cow!

+1 on this. It doesn't, well mine doesn't but I wish it did. Probably a health and safety reason why it can't be done.

Sorry went a bit off topic.

Happy Birthday Nick. She would prefer to shorten her walk by a few metres and risk smashing someone else's pride and joy up.

Thank you all for your good wishes!

Isn't there a book called something like 'Men are from Mars, women are from Venus'?.

Guess it must be true!

Happy birthday, have a great day n evening.

I gave up trying to understand the fairer sex, not sure about Venus, but they are from some place far far away.

Previously on Summer ball nights, was always amusing watching a woman trying to extricate herself from tight parking space in full evening attire. Rather than park in a large gap, was always right next to another car - bizare.

A popular quote from the boating world.

He who would keep himself busy, let him equip himself with these two; a ship and a woman. For no two things involve more business once you start to fit them out, nor are these two ever sufficiently adorned, nor is any excess of adornment enough for them

I would have thought if you saw a woman performing gymnastics to get out of a car then this could be quite a nice birthday present?

Nick,

Happy birthday bud,

My other half makes me drop her off at the front doors of supermarkets, DIY stores and so forth.....she's lost her patience having to walk from the furthest corner of the car park it seems! :-) I might start a 'Lonely BMW' Thread....we can post pics of our cars in distant corners of car parks!
