Question Have you asked the dealer to keep all packaging of new car?

I know people who like to keep all the packaging of a gadget or a computer, does anyone request to keep all the stuff (however minor) when a new car arrives from the factory?

I got a free piece of sat nav sticker that they failed to remove, found it tucked behind the screen reflecting on the windscreen

No. BUT on a similar thread.....

Why the F do dealers place Fing stickers all over the car?!?!?

I told them NOT to place any of their stickers on the car, went to pick it up (a month or so ago) and what did I find? A massive tax disk holder with their name all over it, and a 'supplied by' sticker in the back window which is impossible to remove.

They said they had nothing in their notes about no stickers!!!!! Hate, hate, hate!!!

Well i noticed a horrible noise when playing music, when I had a look under the passengers front seat there was a piece of paper still there that clearly should have been removed, I thought the sub was busted until I removed the paper!!

No never asked that but I also got a dealer sticker for free (b&stards) you just need to get it off quick before it welds, wife's new car was the same. They were both told not to prep/touch the car but they just ignore you the sale is done so they don't care.

Just read on another forum that the best way to remove stickers is to use a hair dryer set to warm on the rear window stickers for 2 or 3 minutes, and it will then become peelable - any left over glue can be removed using either Goo-gone (?!?) or WD40.

Think I will give this a try this BH weekend.

I hate, hate, hate that sticker and driving around in an advert. Going to also remove the tax disk holder.

Hell no, why would I want all that junk? People keep their PS4 box to sell it on ebay on post it. Cars are very different surely?

No stickers on my car, not even a tax disc holder, I've been past plenty of police roadside checks and never been pulled in either, so unless they tell me to put the disc in it stays in the glove box

Indeed it is. Councils are pretty hot on this. Although generally the fines are between £60 and £100.

You want to talk about wrapping?????

My wife and I purchased new cars within 1 week of each other. I went for a 4-series, and she went for an Audi TT. She got hers first.

Day of collection, her TT was in the showroom, in a reveal room, under a silk cloth. The room was all chrome and marble - with spotlights angled to the car, the smell of lemon in the air, and light classical music playing - and she got to pull the cloth aside to reveal her car.

Me? I arrived at BMW and my car was outside (we walked past it on the way in), in the rain, already kind of dirty :-(

However, end fo the day, I love my car, and she is sort of "Meh" with hers.

Still, I did like the effort Audi put into her hand over.
