My N54 Top Mount Project
I don't post too much around here, just usually lurk the classifieds etc. Had this up and running couple weeks ago, just wanted to share with you all.
So I'm sure you all know I've been working on a kit. I didn't want to come out with any teasers or any bullshit. I come out with everything. The whole process took 5 weeks exactly, and it started right up today. I don't like to mess around with my projects I got videos, pictures, logs... yea the whole shabang. Enjoy and ask all the questions you'd like. I put in 5 gallons e85 and 6 gallons 91 so I'd say somewhere around e50 blend. Here is log 1 Map 4 wastegate spring pressure 12 psi. Log 2 Map 1 15 psi Log 3 Map 2 17 psi If you don't like that I also got the Datazap link for the logs: http://www.datazap.me/u/fastgti69/single-turbo We did a couple 23-25 psi pulls. Fueling looked okay, the problem was the clutch started slipping so we had to stop there. I'm very happy with the numbers being conservative as well as being totally stock exhaust. I still have the secondary cats, resonator and mufflers all in place. I'm sure if I revved out to 7k rpm and had some better flow from exhaust, I could see 640whp 24 psi on ms109. Anyways the car did 594whp 540wtq at 23-4 ish psi, 5th gear with ms109 6.2k rpm pull: |

Haha, I was really not ready for that. I was logging with 3 heads in the car earlier. This was on the way home after I dropped them all off. Car went sideways lol.
Soon there will be more info on this kit. Me too |

Thank you for the support. We will come up with more info on the kit when the time permits. A group buy will be in order when we are a vendor, I'm not sure if we will be vending through this site though.

The clutch is holding the power good. Just sucks when I try to turn the boost up past 19 psi with some e40 blend it misfires near redline because of the DMFW with high hp applications. Causing the vibration and the sensor to thing it's a "knock" so it goes into limp mode lol. It's not a real misfire tho haha. Next is spec stage 3+ with steel SMF, LSD, and some suspension and tires. That video man, I just had to post it. It was my honest reaction to a first time pull with 19 psi and nobody in the car. It shot me side ways, I had to drop the phone cause I literally jumped lanes. |

When the stock DMFW issues were relatively new a year or two ago....A couple guys would disable misfire detection in order to get past a certain power limit since they knew the misfires were directly related to the stock flywheel...I know Cobb has the option to disable, but not sure on the BB Flash/Tunerpro options...Either way just thought I would fill you in, just in case your itching to go above 19psi lol not recommending it by any means.... IMHO your best bet is to just wait until you swap the Spec Stage 3+ in there and then start increasing power levels...Best of luck!

Lol, yea 20k in the cobalt, idk what I was thinking. I could have had the 335 all done and finished with that kind of money lol. Yea, Terry could disable misfire detection, but I didn't want to do it. I can go above 19 psi, my redline just becomes shorter LOL. I can rev 19 psi out to 7k rpm but when I go near the 21+ range, I gott stop at 6.2k rpm or else it will go into limp. The clutch will be in soon, just waiting on a few more things so I can do it all at once while I'm already down there etc. Thanks again brotha! |
