OEM vs Walbro 255 vs 455 flow rates.....hmmmm

Just in case some folks have not seen this or have forgotten about it. Terry did some very good testing here. Which I believe is awesome knowledge to have especially with Vargas coming out with his HPFP upgrade

455 flows very well, no doubt about that.

What exactly are we looking at here? Are values in "Test 1" and "Test 2" columns flow rates? Which row shows the data for the 455?

You're mistaken, it's the 1000.

Technically, it's a Walbro F90000267 and Walbro refers to it as their "450lph" pump.

If you search for it on ebay and plug in 455 you'll come up with bubkis....but if you search for a Walbro 450....you'll get all kinds of listings because that is how Walbro refer's to it.

Basically at some point somebody advertised it as a "455" because at 30psi under the right conditions it flows pretty close to that. You'll never get that in our cars.

In addition when all these upgrades started people were confusing the Walbro 450 and Walbro 255....

All pretty trivial really because unless you have other fuel system upgrades...both will max out your HPFP anyways.

Absolutely some were confusing the 450 and the 255. Also confusing the fact that although the Walbro 255 does very well in e85 it is not "technically" an e85 pump and the 450 Walbro is.

The factory pump isn't "technically" and E85 pump either....

You are correct Sir so then alot of folks have a two non e85 compatible pumps in their tank, thanks for pointing that out. But being that the 450 or 455 is inline it compliments the oem pump when it struggles with e85. As does the 255 but in that later scenario you have 2 non e85 pumps complimenting each other. But hey whatever works!

Have you considered attaching multiple 450's in series? Of course with the factory bucket.

You'd have to wire it up in a different way. The way it's currently setup a stock 20 amp fuse is all that's needed
