Codes came up after dp install
Put the vsrf dp on . Now car gives me check engine light,I checked the codes via obd2 scanner and the following codes came up 0420 and 0430 and the same time. I checked to make sure pre cat sensors were in correctly. Car has 83k . Should I replace both front sensors or is there any way to find out which sensors need to be replaced. Current mods are fbo. Thanks in advance

When you installed catless DPs, unless you are on auto-clear or have a DP Fix you will get those codes. Did they come up after you drove the car for around 40-60miles?

I have a jb4 g5 . Car runs on map 5 and codes come up once a day. On the jb4 does this dp fix have to be enable? Or since I switched to map 5 does it automatically switch to auto clear?

Confirm you have Auto-Clear on, to do this, make sure you are set to Speedo 1--Tach 3

DP Fix is a separate part for those who are not running the JB4 iso. But it's a built-in feature in the JB4 and it's set to auto-clear by default... so you should be fine! But check just in case...

The DP Fix wire harness essentially mimics the o2 as being there receiving proper input, and the I/M Monitors will show ready. The JB4 ISO will not bring the I/M to readiness, which in turn, will bring up a code as the o2's are confused per se.

Back in the day BMS labeled the JB4 as having a DP-FIX but it was meant to portray that you would not throw a check engine light for installed downpipes.
They also sell a separate "DP FIX" which refers to a unit that can be used to clear the check engine light for those that don't have a tune or for those that want the ability to set readiness codes for emissions purposes. Although they function similarly the stand alone dp fix has more features as it can be used to set the readiness codes needed for inspection purposes. This terminology has been omitted from the current JB4 description for obvious reasons as it tampers with emissions, which is also why the stand alone dp fix is no longer available by them. |

so if i put on downpipes how do i clear the code without auto clear. auto clear seems sketchy because if something serious were to happen you wouldn't get a code

I forget the details, but if there is something seriously wrong, auto-clear won't immediately clear it. Your CEL will come on.
You don't clear the code without auto-clear unless you run the stand alone DP Fix but some say that has it's own problems as eventually one of your banks can run lean since the DP Fix is modifying the signal. |

I don't know why I bother anymore. This has been answered 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 times.
1) Install backend flash of your choice with BT cable. 2) Enjoy no more codes without having to use autoclear, so you can still get codes for other things when they inevitably break. 3) Enjoy passing emissions as long as your car is still in an overall good state of health/running clean/etc.* *= most laws allow for one monitor to not be in a "ready" state and still pass. This also assumes your car is capable of passing for numbers and passes the visual inspection (secondary cats in place, how comprehensive they are etc). YMMV. If your specific area requires all monitors to be "ready" or you have a leaking gas cap, EVAP system etc you will require a DPFix or to fix the other problems on the car first so that only the cat readiness is missing, if the visual check/tech is very comprehensive and looks under the skid plate you will require re-installation of primary cats. All information provided is theoretical based on others experiences. I drive a Prius. /thread. |

Auto Clear
Auto clear, is made to clear aftermarket performance mods... Example, cat-less downpipes. You will still get check engine lights if there is something else wrong... Example, I had a bad O2 sensor (with cat-less DP's) and my check engine light came on with auto clear enabled. The other option is to connect your car to your computer and you can check for DME codes manually. Go to the user adjustment page, there is a drop down with a list of the firmware versions for whatever car you have, make sure that is set to the correct version for your car and click on the "Read DME Codes". It will display any codes, if there is something not right. If a code comes up, email it to BMS and they will help diagnose the problem.
