Refresh under the hood/tune up
Hey everyone,
Currently own a 2007 335i with ~131K miles. Original owner. All stock right now. No issues but going to freshen everything up for the hell of it. On the short list, I'm going to replace the valve gasket, new RB PCV and hose and add a BMS catch can as well as new spark plugs (overdue) and I figure new coils since I'm changing the plugs and I'll be removing them anyway. Aside from the hoses and aforementioned parts, anything else to consider like maybe new diverter valve and VANOS solenoid? What hoses should be on the list for replacement and OEM or do you guys have recos for aftermarket (like Samco or whatever?). Thanks! Edit: Just some things that already have been replaced or done: New waterpump (failed 2 years ago) Carbon buildup cleaning New injectors (recall) HPFP (recall even though I didn't have an issue)

Any recommendations on hoses or just OEM?

Hey tc535i,
Good idea, I've seen Mr. 5 using Royal Purple for his diff and tranny. I've used Redline in my 325 but I figure that Royal Purple is good stuff as well. Thanks!

I'd run a pressure test and see if boost leaks calling for any replacements (FMIC mounts/ CP, DVs any of these could have leaks from xconns) - vaccum solenoids and actuator get shot too (bulb like things that feed the actuator sitting ontop of exhaust manifold) - If you're stock it might be ok .. definitely Trans Filter ($96 from Amazon) and Fluid (Castrol, ZF, Purple, redline whatever u like), rear differential fluid (30 min DIY), Trans mounts (1 hr DIY by Rob Beck), look for leaks underneath, sometimes oil filter housing leaks, and then at that mileage check CV joints bootcover, turbos if u wanna tune it later.... also I'd run 0w-40 at that mileage (no 0w-30) ...I've done almost all of these mods myself so u can do it too (except cvj & turbos)
