you opened the boot and it scraped it? struggling to understand how it is scraped above the boot badge as the roof is higher....or did you reverse into a space with a downward sloping ceiling??

I had a boot respray and a dent repair and paint touch up on the A frame for £400. Therefore I think you'd get the boot done for about £250

Without a picture, I would say proce wize £1,000,000. Nothing now a days costs less than £150 + VAT to fix by BMW. Let's have a picky.

Easily fixed by a smart fix. Go to your dealer and see if they can oblige.

Spoilers look stupid.
However, a spoiler will cover it. Also, you won't have to deal with paint mismatch problems.

Spoiler wont cover it. Checked!
Need to go down the repair route. No what to I do... advice guys. 1. SMART repair... will it really look right? 2. BMW Approved ... Is there less of a chance of colour mis match going via BMW 3. Local Sprayer ... worried that the job wouldnt be as good as BMW's? |

We had a smart repair at a BMW dealership; we went that route because we had issues previously and it was a mare to sort out. In the end there was a slight colour mismatch but the dealer took the car back and resprayed. Also the repair bill wasn't as bad as we initially thought.

Same thing happened to me, slight scrape on the bumper around Christmas time. Had an independent do a smart repair but when the missus was following me home after having it done she noticed the colour difference in the car headlights. So we pulled over and you could see exactly where they sprayed it, half way along the bumper. So took it back and they resprayed the whole bumper in the end (for no extra cost).
Mines black and they said some colours get away with it and some dont.

A smart repair should be different to a bodyshop repair - they can use the same materials etc. It all comes down to the the person using the spray gun.
This guy does very good smart repairs - http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=329745 |
