Snap-In Adapter Video Streaming

Does anyone actually have this working? I have the proper options and a Media snap-in adapter for an iPhone 4S. It works great for anything music related. But I can't play videos, even though this is supposed to work. I don't even have any button or control for video in iDrive.

never heard of the snap in playing video. correct me if im wrong but i highly doubt this is a feature

I believe I read somewhere on this forum that is a Coding feature. I will look around and see if that is true of not.

I have video working that will play from either the DVD player or from USB. I do NOT have the snap in adapter, but even with the coding, I still can't figure out how to play video from the iPhone through the USB port.

When I do play it from USB, you can't just browse to the file, you have to go to additional media, then select videos.

Yep, this is as far as I can get it. Supposedly you can't stram videos from iPhone using USB...you HAVE to use the snap-in. The user manual does say that videos can be viewed with snap-in, as well as in the marketing info on the snap-in itself. I have read that some people have been successful with this..but no confirmation on which version of iDrive, which device or which version of snap-in.

And if you look at BMW's compatibility/feature table, they say you cannot do videos fron iPhones.

A bit confusing eh?

I believe you have to use an iPhone 4 or older generation in order for the video to work. Coding only allows you to playback and watch while in motion.
