is there a way to change what the scroll between the volumes can do? instead of scrolling through every single station, can i make it go through my favorites? or id rather use the scroll for volume like the audis..

If you set your own stations in your own order...you could scroll those stations only

If you haven't got a lot of favourites why not set them up on the main memory keys on the centre console?

this is the point I'm trying to make. i do make the main favorites on the centre console. but whats the point on having a steering scroll if its going to go through everything single channel?

you just need to highlight "presets" on the idrive then it will scroll the favorites.... if you are in stations it will scroll all stations

Yeah, it only scrolls what you're set to... if you're set to stations, it scrolls stations, if you're set to favorites, it scrolls favorites, if you're set to... you get the idea.

with the tech pkg it shows under the radio menu... not sure for non-tech.... did you check the manual?

The scroll function is awesome for sorting through your music library on shuffle. It's kind of annoying for radio, but who listens to radio anymore?

Is it possible that the preset option may not show up until you store at least one station ?

One issue that's really annoying is scrolling through favorites is great but the screen just shows the stations you are scrolling and not the songs. If you want the screen to show songs, year etc you have to manually go in and set the screen to shows the detail. the screen won't stay that way the next time you start the car and reverts to just showing the stations. Anyone know how to get the screen to stay on detail of the station or show what songs are on all the stations instead of 6 and 60's, 26 and Classic Vinyl etc? I want to be able to see what artist or song is playing on stations because I already know what fricken station it is. My wife's X1 has this ability but maybe you need Nav which she has.

Hit the menu button then radio and it gives I think 5 options, two options are satellite radio and presets. If you leave it on satellite radio it scrolls through all stations on the scroll but if you set it on preset it will only scroll through your favorites you preset. Obviously you need to set some presets. It's hard to remember the exact terminology when your not sitting in front of the screen but you have to select radio then presets or favorites and each time I start the car it will remain in that mode.
