430D - off the charts ...
Nope, not another Vmax thread.
I've been trundling up and down to Ticino this week, under the Alps through the Gotthard Tunnel. The last time I was just chilled out, but still cruising at about 120 km/h and noticed that my economy was excellent on the way down into Bellinzona. Almost achieved a full house. [Gauntlet now thrown down] 30 minutes at over 60 mpg. Quite surprising. D.

Well done. But with your average down at 38, you clearly enjoyed the more spirited aspects of the car too

Not strictly comparable, but I've got a picture somewhere of my previous '07 Civic diesel 2.2 showing 143.7 miles per gallon on that long downhill run from the St. Gotthard tunnel down into Italy.
Soon reverted to it's normal 50-55 mpg when back on the flat, though. |
