Oil temp gauge issue, anybody notice this? Jb4 related?

Jb4 g5 on my 03/07 335i. Every now and then, I'll get in the car and the oil temp will read a little off the peg like it's warmed up a bit. But I know it isn't, cause I've been at work a while.

Start driving and after a couple minutes I'll get in the gas a little so gauge hijack kicks in. Oil temp turns to IAT and the needle moves to reflect temp. After a few seconds out of the throttle, gauge hijack backs off, and the needle drops all the way to the bottom (like it should have been). After a few more minutes I get the "oil temp warm" flash on the dash, and I see the needle has come off bottom, and continues to rise over the next few minutes.

Any ideas why I'm getting this initial misread? Anybody else experience this?

Maybe it's the cluster? Switch to map 0 and shut all the hijacking off and see how it acts. If it's off still, it may be the actual needle? Idk I never heard of this before, maybe someone else may chime in

Yeah, I'll turn the gauge jacking off and see if it still does it.
