Oil temp gauge issue, anybody notice this? Jb4 related?
Jb4 g5 on my 03/07 335i. Every now and then, I'll get in the car and the oil temp will read a little off the peg like it's warmed up a bit. But I know it isn't, cause I've been at work a while.
Start driving and after a couple minutes I'll get in the gas a little so gauge hijack kicks in. Oil temp turns to IAT and the needle moves to reflect temp. After a few seconds out of the throttle, gauge hijack backs off, and the needle drops all the way to the bottom (like it should have been). After a few more minutes I get the "oil temp warm" flash on the dash, and I see the needle has come off bottom, and continues to rise over the next few minutes. Any ideas why I'm getting this initial misread? Anybody else experience this? |

Maybe it's the cluster? Switch to map 0 and shut all the hijacking off and see how it acts. If it's off still, it may be the actual needle? Idk I never heard of this before, maybe someone else may chime in
