Teething Things....

Hi All,

Really making friends with the car now, collected last Friday, now at 700 miles!!

Couple of little things annoying me, anyone know if they can be fixed?

A: When I turn the car off, the radio stays on, so when I open the car door everyone car hear how sad/uncool/not hip (or hop) I am. Is there a way to fix this?

B: I like Eco-Pro, its a little more relaxing to drive than the other settings - but I keep forgetting to turn it on! Is there a way to make the car turn on in that mode?

C: The only thing about Eco-Pro I would like to change is the steering? Is it possible to make the steering Sport and leave everything else Eco?!

D: My company iPhone auto locks - seemingly rendering my EBT and Snap In Adaptor pointless for all the office functionality - any super IT genei (Plural?) know a way around this?

Thats it!

Thanks all for your help, choosing & then waiting for the car!

When you've switched the ignition off just wait a second and press the start button again. That'll switch the radio off.

Or just press the radio on/off switch :

Glad you're enjoying the new car.

A: When I turn the car off, the radio stays on, so when I open the car door everyone car hear how sad/uncool/not hip (or hop) I am. Is there a way to fix this?

Yes press the starter button one final time.

B: I like Eco-Pro, its a little more relaxing to drive than the other settings - but I keep forgetting to turn it on! Is there a way to make the car turn on in that mode?

No unless coding can fix, starts in Comfort. Eco Pro is dull, drive faster

C: The only thing about Eco-Pro I would like to change is the steering? Is it possible to make the steering Sport and leave everything else Eco?!

Don't think so, can on an M car but nit certain if all options can be configured wp even if you have adaptive dampers.

D: My company iPhone auto locks - seemingly rendering my EBT and Snap In Adaptor pointless for all the office functionality - any super IT genei (Plural?) know a way around this?
What do you mean it locks, it's locked down from using BT?

A Yep, second press of the button (as long as foot off the brake) will stop the tunes blasting!

B You like ECO PRO as a preference... seriously?!

Should have just got a 318d then!

C Not that I'm aware of

D Yeah that's a pain. You can't disable the auto lock, or at least change it to take an hour to lock I presume?

Try this For the lock screen issue - go into settings on the phone and then go into notifications centre and configure the phone to show alerts in lock screen for both emails and texts - these should then transfer over to the car even if the screen is locked down

Front PDC sensor started beeping for no apparent reason today. Let's see if it does it again tomorrow.

iPhone 5 has crashed twice whilst plugged in and playing music. I think it crashed iDrive as well.

Radio staying on is annoying. Even my 3 year old finds that weird. Will try the recommendations tomorrow.

Lastly, and yes, I know, RTFM, but there aren't any configurable settings for Sport or Sport+ are there? Couldn't find anything under Settings.

Will give it a go. Car only arrived on Friday so still relatively clean. I've given the front sensors a quick wipe with a dry cloth but hasn't made a difference.

Usually it's just crud in the sensors, however with yours being new, it's likely just where they bashed it on the ship

Our mondeo had an issue on delivery. It was just a loose sensor, minutes to sort.

Hopefully it's nothing major. Funny thing is, drove it briefly over the weekend and it was fine. Problem started yesterday. On physical inspection, nothing seems amiss.

Radio staying on can be coded so it (and everything else) shuts down as soon as you open the door. Much more sensible.

I had this once. Sensor was covered with crap. Cleaned it and it stopped.

So, looks like my wife's inability to parallel-park has fixed the issue. Took the little one to Sealife on Sunday, and whilst trying to park, she very gently shunted the car in front. I could see the bumper flex slightly (I was outside providing guidance! Ha!) and since then, the issue has gone away.

How freaking weird is that?
