M3 Pricing from Boston Auto Show Rep

Hey everyone,

I'm a new member on this forum, but have been closely following all the speculation about pricing for the e92 M3. I just wanted to put it out there that my Aunt called me this afternoon from the Boston car show to tell me that she asked the BMW representative about pricing for the e92 M3. He told her that while it hasn't been officially released, it will be in the $57,000 to $58,000 range - Base MSRP. He said that fully loaded it can get as high as $72,000, and that's before sales tax, gas guzzler tax, and luxury tax.

Just wanted to share that with everyone.

Best,
A.J.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. $57,000 to $58,000 is right on the mark with all of the speculation we've heard through military sales

Tell your Aunt "Thanks". Additionally, was there any date to when BMW will release the price to the public?

And I wonder what the early buyer premium will be... does 58k become 62k?

At certain dealers it will, but I would not patronize any of them. Make sure you get "MSRP" in writing if you put down a deposit.

I got that in writing (MSRP plus first in line) more than a year ago. I took no chances this time around.

Smart. If I get the M3 - not committed yet and will want M-DCT - I will take this advice, and also be patient. So it's at least 12 more mths in the current sled... congrats on your pole possie!

Jason you were one of the few who held out saying it would be below 60 k. Kudos to you if true.

Do diligence will get you are car for MSRP. Do not pay a penny more. It will not be in the too distant future when they will be be had for below MSRP.

Fortunatley, there is no buyer 'premium' in Canada. Just MSRP or less.

Kudos indeed, but it is also looking like a lost bet .

My last minute predictions above $60k did not take into account the no leather as base situation and I guess I just began doubting my very old and initial prediction right in this range.

Don't mean to toot my horn, but remember my 100% prediction statements of under $60k? I was very emphatic about that mark.

Yep, if its 57,500 I will be happy putting the "No Fear" and "GTR" stickers on my E36 M3.. 500 off the mark is fine with me, especially since I am getting mine for around 50K flat....

Well it may be too early for any of us to toot our own horns but indeed.

Nonetheless you always made it sound like a fact rather than a very strong hunch. Looks like we are all going to "win" - win at least a few $k from where it could have ended up.

Ya, ya, ya...

Speaking of bets...Look, this is getting old. You still haven't sent in your $200 to mkoesel, or responded to my PMs. What's your problem? You propose a bet, agree on it, put it in writing, yak around, and then act like nothing's going on. Respond to my most recent PM or contact mkoesel, or shut up.

I guess we should all simply know better than to believe someone with his style and frequency on the board would actually hold true to a bet and a promise. Is it simply so much easier to be the big e-bold, e-confident, e-tough guy rather than to simply be a real man in real life. I say that he send the check to mkoesel, or reply to your pm or he get the BAN. Folks need to have a spine and have it enforced upon them by their community when they dont. I will PM this note to Jason as well so you don't have to.

FYI there is no luxury tax, the gas guzzler takes care of that.
