Quesiton About M-Perf. Exhaust Pricing

I inquired about adding the M Performance Exhaust System to my build which is not an issue according to my rep but I am forced into buying the chrome tips? The pricing shows the exhaust MSRP at $1,305 and the Chrome Tips at $270?! Is that correct??? I have no problem with having them but I am not trying to pay additional $$$ for Chrome Tips here, that is just unnecessary.

I believe you must buy a tip, either chrome or CF. The exhaust itself doesn't have finished tips.

I wonder if they can put the existing black chrome tips on the M Perf Exhaust.
The fact that it doesn't come with the exhaust is what bothers me....

OP, I was quoted the same BS price from my dealer (but that price includes installation and if you lease you can residualize it). Looks like we can get a much better price from getBMWParts:
https://www.getbmwparts.com/partloca...catalogid=4462
=> $965 including the Chrome tips.

You would think you'd get some kind of credit for the standard muffler. If you buy from getBMWParts, I would assume you could attempt to sell your original muffler on eBay or something like that

I agree it's a steep price for no perf gains whatsoever. But I personally like a more aggressive sound than what I experienced in my M235i test drive. It sounds great standard but I want more of that greatness

$720 divided over 36 months is a no brainer; even for a M Performance muffler.

i thought the same, but this isn't completely accurate. you would be crazy to buy the MPE at $1500. I got mine for 900 shipped with tips.

the first time you install it, the exhaust is VERY quiet. Can barely notice a difference. But after driving 600 mile to Vegas and back, i noticed the exhaust got louder. I'm guessing it needed to be broken in.

After the "break-in", there is a significant difference outside. People know its me when im driving by.

Also in sport mode, there is a lil drone now unlike before. But its not annoying and very subtle. honestly, i find it worth $900. No other exhaust gives the same tone as the MPE.

For $900 is a different story...

I ordered it. Don't forget about the 1,000 option credit that pretty much pays for it.

So the screen shot my guy sent me showed the M Perf Exhaust MSRP of $1,305 and then "Chrome Exhaust Tips at $270. Wholesale Price of M Perf Exhaust is $885 & for Tips is $215.

The Description Code for the M Perf Exhaust is Z10, Chrome Exhaust Tips is Z1T.

Is the M Performance Exhaust you folks are talking about the same one that's shown here?:

http://www.shopbmwusa.com/PRODUCT/46...EXHAUST-SYSTEM

If so, why is this one $2,365.38?

Don't count on a higher option credit, These current rates are good through june. I hope they will bring back loyalty.

I click on that link and see a $1,100 exhaust entry and a separate chrome tips entry, no indication of an exhaust priced at 2365..?
