Attending BMW CCA West Fest at PIR?

Anyone attending the BMW CCA West Fest driving school this weekend, December 8th at PIR? It will be my first event since moving to the area and I am certainly looking forward to it. I hear it's rain or shine and since rain is solidly in the forecast, it should make for some interesting driving! Hope to see you there!

I'll be there for the school, too. Rain will make it interesting. The waivers and warnings are freaking me out a little...

Yeah, definitely won't be able to make it.

I bartend Friday night; so I'm out of the bar at 3am, home and asleep by 4am. Won't be in any shape to push myself on the track after 2 hours of sleep.

Yes, this is my first event with my own car so the waivers are a bit intimidating. Especially now that it will be raining! Either way, I'm looking forward to it. I'm still stressing on finding a helmet. Anyone know where I can rent one for the day? If not, where can you buy a car helmet in the PHX metro area?

I'm using my bike helmet. helmetharbor.com in Gilbert is great! Helmets must be Snell rated!

I think they may have some loaners there, too. Not positive, though.

Thanks for the tip for helmet rental/purchase. I'll go by there tomorrow. See you at PIR!

Definitely go check out Helmet Harbor. The manager (forgot his name) is extremely cool and helpful. I picked up a Scorpion helmet from there.

Oh, and I've researched with the BMWCCA, and current Snell rated motorcycle helmets are perfectly acceptable for their events. It's only once you get to the level of club racing that you need a auto helmet.
(the only difference is fire-resistant liner, and the roll-cage impact test)
