AUX connector to phone hum

Hi guys

I've seen a lot of people have this issue where there is a constant hum when connecting the default aux cable to a phone to play back music.

What cable did you purchase to fix the hum?

See if you can plug your cable into someone else's car. That will at least let you know if it is the cable for sure.

I had the same problem with my iPhone 4S but not with my iPhone 5S.

I bought this cable off amazon and it took care of the problem perfectly:

I had that problem on my iPhone 4....my nexus 5 has no problems, its night and day difference. Also are u using a 2 in 1 cable, I.e USB/aux one end, other end connection to ur s4? Try using a aux only cable (if u ha not already tried)

my iPhone does it when connected to the cars aux cable, however if you have it 2 or 3 (can't remember) clicks down from full it shouldn't do it. Not sure what causes it :S
