So annoying Surround View is part of a package. I wouldn't want that extra nanny stuff....

I am surprised that BMW didn't offer Air-suspension as an option on the 5-series like Mercedes does with their E-class. I am disappointed in this.

Agreed. I really like using the surround view on my F10, but getting all the other stuff is not necessary for me.

Strange that reading these guides has made me less excited about the car rather than more. It's starting to look like a baby 7er and that's a shame to me.

Since 550i isn't listed (yet), its possible that the Air-suspension will be available only on that model.

Nothing too vibrant in the exterior color department... But the blue leather is cool

Any shots of the car? Wheels look nice.
Curious on the curb weight too.

Last 535x was heavy- will new 540x be much lighter? Or is 550x the way to go?

Also... Is there a manual transmission ?

Key difference- no pano roof which I think is a good thing.

Unless I missed the pano option?

That wouldn't make much sense, unfortunately...

It looks like there may be an M550i coming at some point, but no 550i.

Also, BMW is working on a new 4.0 V8TT which hopefully won't have the issues of the N63 engines. Maybe the M550i will get that engine?

Sensatec is BMW's name for synthetic leather.

But I'm also missing grey (light & dark) as an interior which BMW doesn't offer anymore...wonder why?
Mercedes offers grey and it goes so well with many exterior colors (blue, brown, black, silver, graphite,...)

So what's the latest "rumor" on the 550i/M550i as far as engines, timelines, etc?

If it's not on these order sheets, based on how BMW normally operates, does that mean it will come out a little after (e.g., midyear, or next model year)?

I admit I have not followed the distinction between MXXX and M Sport — is the MXXX designation basically more M equipment beyond just the body/appearance, but not enough to be an M vehicle? What would the realistic difference (aside from engine, and perhaps some standard and optional performance features) end up being between something like a hypothetical G30 M550i and the F90 M5, vs the differences between the current F10 550i M Sport and F10 M5?

On that topic, why do the next generation 5 Series and M5 have different body designations (G30 and F90)?

Seems on the M-sport there will be some sort of fabric, instead of leather, on the dashboard?

I'm also missing grey as an interior color, the only way gray now is the Individual route and there are some grey interiors, thinking of Silk Grey as one nice option. But when will there possible to order Individual options on the G30/G31 ?

What car is this thread referencing then?

Don't know if it will be 550 or M550 but, a new V8 engine in-the-works is also what I heard....

No idea, but my guess would be about a year from now.
Maybe we should ask scott26?

Well, according to him, we have already seen G30 more than a month ago

The truth is, no one knows anything at the moment, we even stopped guessing when the car is going to be presented

I would be hugely disappointing if they debut without 550i (M550i), since that would mean that the strongest offered engine for at least next 6-12 months would be 40i ~340hp.

If they present M550i at the premiere, I will order it the first day, if not, I don't want to wait who knows how long, so I will need to get something else... (E class, Macan, X5...).

So far there's only six M Performance cars from BMW, M135i, M235I (from MY 2017 they're called M140i/M240i), F10/F11 M550d (xDrive only), F26 X4 M40i and F15/F16 M50d.
Some call them M light cars, all has M-sport appearance and an one of a kind grey mirrorcaps. Comparable to S cars from Audi, because now the RS Audi's are the M competitors.
