The dimensions are very similar. I remember the day I picked up my E39 540i with a ~280hp V8. I got on the highway and floored the accelerator. It scared the hell out of me. I actually turned to a buddy who was with me and said something like, OMG, this thing may be too powerful for me!!

Haha yes AVH said the American market is right behind the Chinese market in terms of liking to flaunt.

However, that's pretty exclusive to California. Where I'm at nobody likes to show off or wants attention for their wealth.

I do think that the 8 series is just

I like the 8 Series 4 door gran coupe. Not soo keen on the 2 door whose side profile reminds me of the current Ford Mustang.

Let's first see if a bunch of M5 owners drop their cars for the 8 Series 4 door gran coupe.

Personally I'm looking forward to a 545e. Just hope it handles well. I "really" didn't like the suspension setup on the 530e.

Curious why they limit the HP on the b58 on the 745e (and probably the 545e). I would think they could approach 475hp with the b58+electric.

We don’t like to mention California. They’re their own place. Where I come from, most people own black MB E and S class cars or BMW 5 and 7 series cars instead of Lamborghini and Ferrari models. DC has wealth, but it’s mostly understated. My parents drove BMW 5 series and MB E class cars because they’re not as overstated as their Italian and Japanese counterparts. I may be outspoken here since I’m “too young to have an opinion,” but I’m not a fan of where BMW is going with the new flamboyant styling. I know that most kids my age would die for a neon orange bmw M4 with a loud exhaust and a massive wing, and I honestly find that to be a little bit sad. The point of any German car is that they’re understated. It’s what’s under the hood that matters. Not outside of it.

Looks like i will keep mine 2019 M5..i have a feeling that disaster is coming and that pre LCI models will be most wanted as last good looking BMW series 5...i own also G05 X5 and that grill is just huge,ugly...i hate to look at my X5 and if LCI G30/F90 is going to look same as new X5 and 7 LCI that will be most ugly 5 series after Chris Bangle E60 era...and yes 2020 will have live cockpit with idrive 7...with lot of bugs and problems..good luck with LCI BMW.

There is making it stand out for the right reasons. I guess the decision to make the 5lci with larger grills was probably taken a while back to allow engineering to gear up production and testing ahead of launch. Let's hope the next 5 doesn't have them.

That article does bring some hope though.

So I guess this effectively makes the adaptive icon headlights obsolete? Laser headlights > Adaptive icon headlights > base G20/G30 led headlights.
