Bridgestone S007 on M550
The 2020 M550s I have seen are shipping with Bridgestone S007 tires as the performance non-RFT tire on the 20” 668 wheels. Are US cars equipped with those as well, or are you getting the Michelin Pilots?
I know the Bridgestone handles very well, but I hear that the tread wears faster. Does anyone have any experience with the Bridgestones? |

I told my dealer I wanted the Pilots and they swapped them out for me without any question. |

When I built my 2020 550 four months ago I ordered the 20" 668 wheels with the non-RF Michelin Pilot Super Sports. That's what it should come with. I just went to their build page a few minutes ago and when you build it with this wheel tire option it still spells out the Michelin Pilot SS tires as the tire coming with that option. Should mine come with anything else the dealer will have to make the necessary change. Mine is due to tie up in Balt tomorrow. Reason for the long production time (about twice) is I ordered it with individual paint option, rosso corsa.

Ha! Trust me, I'll post plenty of pics when it gets in my hot little hands!! I've always loved buckskin interior with red so I did that too with cognac. I've had IND painted front fender reflectors and color matched center grill piece waiting to be installed now for three months! Probably no pics though until I get those items installed, but that will only take an hour or so.

Picked up my 2020 M550 yesterday and it also had the Bridgestones. Dealer checked with BMW and were told to order me the correct tires, mount and balance them for free and I could keep the BS tires. Works for me.

I think the BMW-USA web site states that you get MPSS tires when you go for the non-RFTs, but unfortunately that's not the case for BMW Canada, it just says 'performance non-RFT', so I don't have much of a case. Plus, it's a no cost option.

I ordered mine with MPSS, but car came with bridgestones.
I told the dealer it had the wrong tires, and they were just like...huh? Any details on how you got this fixed? |

Show your dealer your window sticker, where it says Michelin PSS tires. Also have them look at their own build site where it also spells out MPSS tires when you opt for the $1100.00 option of the 20" wheels and non-RFT. Better do it soon, as my guess is that they will shortly change the wording on the build site to say "performance non-RFT" instead of spelling out MPSS tires, as is the case already in Canada, per Joe Rock.

Also the pilot super sports are being discontinued. Think the 4S tires are taking their place.

Plus the BS007 tread looks like it will be noisy as these tires age. Get the Michelin's if you can.

I figured that it wouldn't take BMW long to change the wording on the build site to cover the car coming with something other than the Pilot SS. Hadn't heard that the SS tire was being discontinued, but not surprised. Just surprised that it took this long. It will be interesting to see if my dealer gives me a set of SS or the 4S. I'd love the 4S, but then having run the SS on several of my past BMW's I was fine with those too.

Yep, that's what I got from my dealer too, a set of SS. What's nice is that my dealer doesn't even want the BS back, sooooo I will run them until they start getting towards the end of their life and then put on my new set of SS's! We went down to the Smokies ten days ago and quite frankly I was quite impressed with the BS. Never had any rain to drive in on the trip so I don't have any wet road thoughts on them. I think they're a little quieter on the road than the SS. I know the mileage will be less, as they have a lower tread wear rating, but I really don't care. I suspect towards the end of next year I will swap them out for my free set of SS's. In the meantime, thanks BMW for honoring your advertised tires that would come with the 20" NRF option!

I am about to order a 550 here in December with the 668s and my build says high performance non run flats. Does not specify tire. I have ps4s on 20s from my 440 and they are a great tire! I may just switch then out if I get the Bridgestone.
