Have you seen BMW's new logo design? [Update: will not be used on vehicles]

So is this supposed to be a distraction from the hideous grills? Most manufacturers don't really mess with what is their brand logo/history. At least I don't think they do really.

I don't mind it, however I'd need to see it on a production vehicle, especially in a different variety of colors.
We know that the i4 will receive this, so does that mean the 4er will also receive the new emblem? |

I like it, but I wonder if our current badges build up grime underneath with time. If that's the case then the transparent badge won't look good when dirty.
