But to be honest i don’t think it matters that much in that particular situation,
Many thanks for the response - much appreciated

If i just put on f90 M5 comp roll bars onto my otherwise stock M550 is that going to work well? I have foudn a used set on ebay for $500 shipped.

I know i will lose hte “vibration” dampener that the M550 bar has in the rear - no idea if that is really something I need or will notice is gone?

From other threads I have read it sounds like this is a good starting point to stiffen up the handling and kill some of the body roll?

After that I might add Dinan springs to my OEM dampers… but i have 80k on the car, not sure if this would wear them out really quickly or do nothing at all to damper life? I’d rather not go to an aftermarket suspension for the M550 and lose hte on the fly dampening adjustability.

I don’t wnat to track my car.. ij ust want the car to have a sportier feel and keep the ride relatively close to stock but gain better cornering. I like how the car rides, it’s just a tad too soft in my opinion.

Thoughts??

Thanks!!

Do you have install photos of the cross strut brace and where it replaced on the rear subframe? If I'm not mistaken there's a large bushing in place so I'm assuming that's getting tossed in lieu of the cross member.

Do you have any pictures of this bushing? Curious to know what you mean?
From what I've seen when looking under the car, there's nothing in the way of it... the 2 longer ends go under the tank covers. The new covers have a cut out shape that accommodate the 2 longer arms on the brace.

The rubber mountings, shown as 2 and 3 of the real oem diagram. Do they stay in place with the new cross brace?

How are the Dinan mono balls aging? I have had to replace both thrust arms due to leaking bushings (on both the m550i and my g01 x3 m40i). Both between 30 and 40k miles.

I had one of them fail, replaced very quickly at no charge by Dinan who sent me another set (great support); the other one is still going strong, so I'm left with a spare monorail bushing in case something goes wrong.

Yes I think that would be an easy and beneficial change.

Bee Pee do you guys mean this ‘A-arm camber adjustment 31126870026?

I’m about to pull the trigger. I found this one on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/275573128095?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=HKXZFkVmRJC&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=&var=&widg et_ver=artemis&media=COPY Seem like it is an OEM brand Metrix Premium. Not sure the quality.

Have you guys changed to this one yet 30736866 -30min?

To those of you that did the install, did you notice multiple mounting holes for the sway bars? I'm looking to swap out the active sway bar for the static ones, mostly for weight savings, battery draw, and consistency in suspension feel.

The active sway bar brace on m550 m850 looks to be bigger but all the part numbers for active sway and static sway seem to be interchangeable. Maybe the built in bushing mounts into the bigger brace?

Hi Guys Honestly here is to much info in bits.. can some one summarise it pls?
I have g30 540i i allready installed M5 front and rear swaybars with endlinks(made big difference) now what else can i do?
I seen the engine bay brace from hardrace, And I read /Dinan boushing/ i went to dinan page shows 0 result for g30, that means i have to choose m5 f90 and install that to my control arms? I mean i willing to spend 300-400 for One strengthening element but not more… like Engine brace cost 350 ish, i bought the m5 swaybars 400 two off them. Can some direct me to the right way…

Also has anyone any experience with bilstein b16 as im planing to buy them as well… thx
