Has anyone had any success with an aftermarket LCI set of tails for the g30 5 series?

I have a 2020 pre LCI and would love to upgrade the tail lights.

Are they’re any models that are plug and play?

Any input or advice is appreciated, thank you

I did see those but for the price you could get OEM, I’m hoping to find a nice pair for half of OE retail

Theres tons of discussions regarding LCI tails being installed.

Ive installed OEMs for about two years now and a few aftermarket knock offs have came out since then which you can find on amazon/ebay. Search on this forum for LCI tails and you should see numerous discussions or just jump on amazon and grab a pair.

Oh, I went with OEM tails almost three years ago, well before the Chinese started copying them. I still would go OEM today though.

Yeah the price different is much it seems like OEM would be the way, are the oem plug and play or do you need a wire harness? I have not read into that part yet. I know the off brands come plug and play

OEM requires wiring, repinning and coding. All here, it is long, skip to where I come in:

Hello today had my car in Hughes Bros to get this Bmw rear tail lights fitted and coded.. I been told that they will fitted and code it for my own risk as it can crash while coding them in.. Has anyone experienced some problems after fitting and coded this.. Thanks for help

In terms of the shop making you aware of coding failures, they are just covering their ass. There is always a risk the laptop will crash, your car battery will run out, etc. as they are "coding", which literally is 20 seconds, tops. Coding failure is an extremely remote possibility.


If they are OEM lights and and coded and installed correctly, you should not have a problem.

Does anyone know where I can get LCI tail lights with North America specs? Not liking the Euro spec with amber signals but having a hard time finding them online.

He wants US spec OEM's which believe it or not, are more difficult to source in the US than the Euro's as most people want the Euro spec for the Welcome Light functionality as well as the Amber strip blinker. Welcome lights throw errors on US LCI tails on US cars.
